An icy VIA Rail Ocean passenger train with a friendly engineer!
VIA Rail locomotives 6414, 6421, and 6457 (all EMD F40PH-2D) lead an hour late VIA Rail passenger train 14 "The Ocean" (Montreal, PQ to Halifax, NS) eastbound at Lutesville East (a few miles west of Moncton, NB) with the stainless steel Budd consist. VIA Rail has keep the Budd consist on the VIA Ocean for now as one of the renaissance sets is out of service for the time being. Today's train is considerably shorter than that ran over the Holidays. The consist is as follows; Baggage car 8608, Coaches 8103, 8138, Skyline 8501, Dinning Car Frontenac, Sleepers Brock Manor, Dunsmuir Manon, Chateau Brule, Chateau Rigaud, and Parkcar Assiniboine Park.
