This aquascaping contest was a riot for me. I had a great time hosting an event where planted aquariums were the center while saltwater was all around.
So I had an absolute riot at this show. This being typed from a hotel room where I was woken up at 5am by my neighbor next door fun. The guys at ReefaPalooza know how to throw a show. As a perk of being a vendor- Lou and Vic have sandwiches brought in as you can never seem to get good food at a trade show- He had extras and fed all of the competing aquascapers as well. Yesterday more people were around my area at the end than any other booths, many people saying "I can't believe these are freshwater tanks." Yes they are... Lots of people talking about how they want to go BACK to freshwater after seeing them. or setup another tank- and who doesn't need another tank. We had Wu-tang instrumentals playing the whole time as well. Keeping with the NY vibe. This
was a real blast for me. I get to walk that nice line of not knowing if I am working or playing....setting up this show on Friday in less than 5 hours in a 20x 20 section WAS WORK, but the work is worth it. Tearing down is yet to come and a flight back to Lexington at 9. Is what it is. "If I could have any job in the world- what would it be?" Drop me a comment of what you want to see at the next Fresh Fest or which tank you thought was the best. Check out the links below for some peoples bios as well.
