I would stare at the screen from 6am in the morning till 10pm at night when things were really going well - then I would still do that on days when things aren't happening. The danger with this is overtrading. I can guarantee you - if you sit there and keep looking at the screen you will find a trade! Let's get back to focusing on your trading. If you're day trading, how do you avoid boredom when nothing is happening in the markets?
1) You can either stay by the screen and do something else
2) You can leave - go the gym or go buy something or whatever.
How do you avoid boredom. Everyone copes differently. For myself I used to play poker in my free time to distract myself. The other thing you can do is to work on your trading strategy, use that time to study your past performance and examine past trades.
