1) What are you trying to achieve as a trader? Where are you trying to get to? Are you in-line with that? What is the framework that you have put in place to get to that?
2) There are of course going to be obstacles, you need to be fully committed to this and this requires focus. It may take considerable time and effort - having this mentality and 'whatever it takes' attitude will help achieve your goals.
3) A willingness to allow others to help in realising the vision. From your perspective this is about accepting help from courses and mentors and books - you don't have to do everything yourself.
4) Preparation, preparation and more preparation. We talk about trade planning and risk management all the time.
5) Patience; the ability of letting opportunities time to develop.
6) I need to be open-minded to different viewpoints and perspectives.
7) Very often we convince ourselves that we are great traders when in reality the data shows we're not.
8) Listening ability. Ray Dalio also talks about this. Understanding what is the truth in you.
9) Humour. Keep things light and keep moving forward.
10) Discipline.
11) Trusting yourself that you are going to do the right things and proving yourself.
12) Commitment. Never quit.
13) Do what you said you're going to do and limit your ego.
