The dangers of adding new tools to your trading tool chest.

"Every time I try adding a new strategic item to my trading plan, say for example fibonacci levels, it sets me back. Just when I seem to be getting somewhere, I try adding in something new, and start doing badly again. OK.
Is it better to stick with something you know, get to know it like the back of your hand and not try to become a jack of all trades?
Or is it better to have many tools in your belt and pay the price of learning to use them, both in terms of failed trades and delaying further the journey to becoming profitable?
I enjoyed learning all about the Fibonacci principal and trying out levels/extensions, but I don’t think I will ever use them. Never say never though."
Don't unnecessarily interfere with your trading strategy! This question keeps coming up. The main thing is that it doesn't matter how you're making your money. If you're using just one strategy and making good money it is as good as trading diverse strategies in multiple markets. It is true that if we try too many new things, we just can't focus. And again if you use too many strategies you will find it very hard to focus. Have a core strategy or perhaps a handful of primary strategies and then a few secondary ones. But you don't want to be meddling with them unnecessarily.
