Moving Averages: How To Use Them to Set Stops Using moving averages as a stop loss Moving averages are pretty useful; you can use them as entry criteria or exit criteria. But can we use moving averages as a stop loss!? Yes, we can!
And the thing is that when you use moving averages to work out the stop loss; its simple, you don't have to think too much about it (but of course you need to be in the right market conditions as always!)
How to Determine Where to Set a Stop Loss
1) Price crosses or touches a moving average. You can use the distance between the price and moving average to help you work out the stop loss level.
2) Price closes above or below a moving average. Of course these are things that will only work in the right market conditions.
3) A fast moving average crosses a slowing moving average.
