Episode 18: Fabulous Candied Yams Video

A quick and easy side dish and Vegetable with a thick and rich sauce. Perfect for the Holidays coming up and/or any night of the week, or just a snack!! You can serve it like it is or serve with some Chicken, Steak, Collard Greens, etc.

2 medium-large yams or sweet potatoes, peeled, boiled, cut into chunks
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 tbsp (1/4 cup) unsalted butter, cut into cubes
1/8 tsp (Pinch) ground nutmeg

In a medium saucepan on high heat, boil yams and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain then return to the pot on low heat. Add all the ingredients and cook/candied them for 1 hour. Do not stir.
