The East Montgomery County Concerned Citizens Meeting was held Monday night at the East Montgomery County Library. Several speakers attended and a lot of information was passed out. District Attorney Bret Ligon talked about the crime in Montgomery County and one of the reasons violent crime is down. He explained that in early years if someone was shot, stabbed or assaulted the closest trauma hospital was Ben Taub in Houston. Many victims didn't make it. Today both 59 and I-45 corridors have several hospitals and trauma centers which can quickly start life-saving measures on victims along with better equipped and trained EMS Personnel. Ligon said that the county needs at least 500 to 600 more law enforcement officers between all Montgomery County Agencies according to the FBI stats. As it stands there are close to 800 officers throughout the county with all agencies working 3 shifts. The crime rate has gone from 6% to 11% which is now at 15% to 25%. Most is not really a real increase but much is crimes being solved and more charges filed than years ago. With all of Montgomery County, it turned out that the Woodlands had the top homicide rate int he county. That is for the 5th largest County in the state. He said CISD recently doubled its police force to over 120 officers. One example of crime increase numbers is sex crimes against children. They have been here but now they are being investigated more and more cases are being filed so it makes it look like the rate is going up where in reality they have been up but now there are charges being filed.
Also in attendance was Precinct 4 Constables Office who said last month they made 160 arrests and served 277 of the 800 attempted civil papers. Of the arrests, 277 charges were filed.
In addition, Brady Farris with Signorelli talked about upcoming events at Valley Ranch and new stores coming in. Also new apartments and at least 7 developments in Montgomery County. He also told the group about the planned 4th of July Event again this year.
Sgt. David Miller with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office thanked everyone for the help in the food drive last weekend. Almost $25,000 in cash was raised and the weight on food has not been tallied yet. This to help the people of East Montgomery County.
Phyllis Martin with Commissioner Metts Office told the group of the progress made so far this year in Precinct 4. Many ditches cleared and a lot of flooding issues were addressed in Chateau Woods, Tamina, Allendale, and Ada Lane. She also stated that BNSF has started a railhead north of SH 105 and east of Fostoria Road.
About the Site π
This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. π₯
Origins of the Idea π±
The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. π§
Challenges Faced π€
Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.
Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. π
Creating Truly Random Links π οΈ
The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.
About YouTube πΊ
YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. π
Content and Users π΅
Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.
While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.
Monetization and Impact π€
YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.
As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. π
