Ginisang Togue (Sauteed Bean Sprouts)
Is a simple dish made from bean sprout from the mung beans. Ginisang togue is easy to cook and nutritious compare to the mung beans itself. Bean sprout (togue) is easy to cook and easy to find in wet market (palengke) or grocery stores. It’s usually serve in carinderia’s since everyone can afford it.
Ginisang togue can be cook together with tokwa (bean curd) you can either fried it or stir fry as it is.
You can also pair it with giniling na baboy (ground pork), pork slices, shrimps. You can also add other
Vegetables like thin slices of carrots, cabbage, etc.
Ginisang Togue Recipe (Sauteed Bean Sprouts)
Ingredients
¼ kilo pork, thinly slice
½ kilo sprouted mung beans (togue)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium sized onion, chopped
2 medium sized tomato, chopped
2 block of tokwa, slice into cubes
2 cups water
Seasoning or salt
Fish sauce (patis)
Ground black pepper
Cooking oil
Procedure
1. Heat oil in a pan and saute onion, garlic and tomato. Cook tomato until it softens and juice comes out.
2. Add pork and cook until it turns color to medium brown.
3. Stir in tofu and cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Pour in water. Put black ground pepper and seasoning or salt.
5. Simmer for 2 minutes then add the bean sprout. Season again with fish sauce (according to taste). Cook for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
