Central Banking in Europe Today: Over-Mighty or Under-Powered? Video

Patrick Honohan, former Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland, will deliver a lecture at the EUI in Florence on the 27th of November, 2017.

In his lecture, Dr. Honohan will explain why, although the European Central Bank and other central banks in Europe are now looking considerably more powerful than before the crisis, there are still some puzzles remaining. In addition, he will illustrate the unique challenges of political legitimacy as well as of economic analysis in the multi-country currency union that the ECB must now face.
