I had never seen a rebar attached to a vertical surface before; thus, we needed to apply not one but two inches of rebar. Rebar is generally used for concrete floors set on Dobies.
Hello, the difference between a cementitious finish and an acrylic or synthetic stucco finish is that one needs to apply a primer with an acrylic finish.
As the owner wanted a water-resistant stucco finish, we are applying a stucco acrylic color finish over this chimney that we brown-coated over cinder blocks.
How and why do acrylic or synthetic stucco finishes be applied? They flex much more and are water-resistant.
The acrylics flex more, resist moisture, and don’t darken when wet.
And yes, there is a difference in a coat by about 50% more when acrylic stucco is used.
