Here I share the 6 step process to setting and achieving any goal that you set for yourself.
Whether it's a New Year's Resolution or a big life goal, this goal setting process from Napoleon Hill's Book "Think and Grow Rich" will help you accomplish them. This is the process that I have been using for years to help me hit my goals!
These are the six steps to hit a new goal that you want to according to Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich.
ONE - FIXATE YOUR MIND ON EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT
This requires you to get very clear on what your goals are. If you don’t know exactly what your goals are, how can you expect to hit them? You never will! So it’s very important to be extremely clear on what it is that you want.
TWO - DETERMINE WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO GIVE UP
Most people look past this point. In order for you to do what you have never done, you are going to have to give up things that are holding you back from being the person that you want to be. For example, if you want to lose weight you were going to have to give up certain foods, candy or alcohol. This is what is required in order for you to hit your goal. If you want to be successful, you might have to start giving up going out on the weekends, so that you can get up early and get a head start on your days.
THREE - ESTABLISH A DEFINITE DATE THAT YOU WILL HIT YOUR GOAL.
A goal without a deadline is just a dream. You must give yourself a reason to work hard and usually that comes in the form of a deadline. Know exactly what your goal is and know the definite date that you will hit that goal by.
FOUR - CREATE A PLAN TO HIT THAT GOAL
Now that you know what your goal is, you know what you’re going to give up to get it, and you know the date that you’re going to get it by, now it is time for you to make a plan of exactly how you are going to hit it. This is like the GPS in your car you won’t get to your destination unless you know the route to get there.
FIVE - WRITE OUT A CLEAR AND CONCISE STATEMENT SUMMARIZING 1-4.
It is important to make a very short 3 to 4 sentence statement that summarizes 1, 2, 3 AND 4, so that you can read this at any time that you need to, to remind yourself of your goals.
SIX - READ THIS STATEMENT OUT LOUD EVERY MORNING AND EVERY EVENING.
This is very important! Because this will remind you of your goal, what you’re willing to give up, what date you’re going to hit it by, and exactly how you were going to do it.
This is a full proof plan to hitting your goals. As long as you follow this these six steps it is hard not to hit your goals!
