The Porsche 911Carrera is the successor of the 911 Carrera 996 and the most noteworthy changes concern a new exterior and interior. The prices of the Carrera 911 997 have decreased significantly and that might turn out to provide a good buying opportunity.
Because there are so many different types of the Carrera 997 for sale, it is necessary to differentiate in the depreciation analysis between the model types. In this video, I’m showing the analysis for the:
Porsche Carrera 2
Porsche Carrera 4
Porsche Targa
The analysis for the Porsche 911 997 S models is saved for another video.
Additionally to a normal depreciation analysis, the analysis shows if the depreciation for the cars is different based on roof types (cabriolet/coupe), transmission type, the presence of the famous sport chrono package, and the facelift cars.
The only significant features which turned out to have an effect on the prices (next to model year and km range) turned out to be the facelift type and the roof type for the Carrera 4.The analysis showed that the facelift models are not depreciating anymore whereas the depreciation for Porsche 911 997 facelift models is still steep. The Porsche Carrera 4 displayed an exception in the sense that next to facelift type, the roof type also had a significant effect on price. In fact, the 997 Carrera 4 showed a significant appreciation.
