Kirknewton Yeavering Bell Walk was about 6.75 miles in distance. The terrain of the route was a combination of hill paths and tracks; plus a short narrow road section. The walking had some level ground and gradual slopes but sections were moderate or strenuous at times, with four steep ascents and three steep descents. Route finding was mostly easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. However, there are some pathless sections over West Hill, so map-reading skills would be advisable. There were 9 stiles to negotiate.
