Neal Schon "Any Way You Want It" Journey Guitar | 1984 Gibson Les Paul Limited Edition Super Custom Video

If you've ever seen the music video for Journey's "Any Way You Want It", you've seen this model of guitar. Odds are you never knew what it was though and it's puzzled your brain ever since. It is a "Les Paul Limited Edition."

This run of Super Customs are incredibly rare, Japan exclusive guitars. Numbers are really flakey out there, but its safe to say there are less than 100 out of both of the runs of these from 1979, 1980 and 1984. Even Greco, Tokai and Orville by Gibson made their own versions of this guitar since it was so popular in Japan. It's safe to say the bulk majority of these are kept in private collections in Japan - never to hit the open market. It's rare to see one for sale.

The specs also widely vary on these depending on the run. Some have custom shop edition stamps and a limited edition serial number. Some were made in Kalamazoo and other were made in Nashville. There are 5 piece necks and 3 piece maple necks. The one thing they all have in common is their mahogany core, maple top, back and sides and they are fantastic!
