Knife Making Tool - Building A Wire Brush And Buffing Wheel Station from Scraps Video

When I can't buy a tool, I usually try to make my own. And I wanted a wire brush/buffing wheel station, so I decided to make one. Finding scraps took me a long time but I finally managed to find an electric motor in good condition with a double axe and a stand for the station. The motor is a 220V, 1,5 HP, 3000 RPM.


I started by taking the motor apart and check everything. Only one wire was in bad condition. I cleaned it and repainted it, then fix the wires and connections. Once it was done, I applied two coats of Hammerite dark grey hammer effect paint.


I then cleaned the stand, and also had to grind the bad welds a little bit. Once it was all done, I apply one coat of light grey hammer effect paint.


I bought a wire brush wheel and a buffing wheel for 20 euros each. All I needed at this point was a way to mount the wheels on the motor. I decided to make two parts out of aluminium scraps I had in the shop.


I'm really happy how this build turned out and it's gonna come very handy for the future projects I have in mind...More to come soon about that :)
