2011年にアニメ「ギルティクラウン」から生まれ、2021年11月30日に10周年を迎えるEGOISTはryo (supercell)がプロデュースを手掛ける架空のアーティスト。

EGOISTのヴォーカルchelly（チェリー）は2000人を超える応募者の中から、選ばれた歌姫。

実際に存在しており、生ライブは勿論、ラジオ出演や、インタビュー取材を受ける事ができる。
これまでにリリースしたCDはいずれも、オリコンウィークリーチャートTOP10入りを果たし、現在も更新中。

最初はアニメの中の存在だったが、現在はそのアニメから飛び出し、人気アニメ「サイコパス」「甲鉄城のカバネリ」、アニメ映画Project Itoh「屍者の帝国」「ハーモニー」「虐殺器官」の主題歌などをこれまで務めており、他のアーティストに類を見ない存在となっている。

2016年にはTokyo Game Showにて「Play Station Music」とのコラボも実現し、配信限定で「Welcome to the *fam」をリリースした。
2017年8月にリリースの8thシングル「英雄　運命の詩」は各配信チャートで1位を獲得し、全14冠を達成。
同年12月には初のベストアルバム「GREATEST HITS 2011-2017 “ALTER EGO“」をリリースし、iTunesではアルバム総合ランキング1位を獲得。
2019年5月にはアニメ映画「甲鉄城のカバネリ 海門決戦」の主題歌「咲かせや咲かせ」をリリース。
2021年6月にはスマートフォンゲーム「アズールレーン」簡体字版リリース4周年記念主題歌、配信限定シングル「絶体絶命」をリリースしている。

また、ライブ活動も積極的に行っており、国内のみならず、香港・シンガポール・上海などでのワンマン公演も実施し、その勢いは止まらない。
