Is shorting unethical? Is there something bad about shorting? Simon Cawkwell, reknown UK trader, investor and short seller comments. Well clearly it isn't and the practice of shorting dates back to pre-Biblical times. For instance when the Phoenicias traded goods between North Africa and the South of Europe, they no doubt entered into contracts with farmers who they wouldn't see until next year for whatever it is they're selling. And if you think about it, the farmer who sold wheat actually sold it short because he certainly didn't have it. This is just a contract between two parties. I have never heard about directors trying to deceive short sellers; incidentally trying to deceive the market is market abuse.
On the one hand given that short traders and investors increase price awareness and attack the misconduct of firms, their presence, by increasing the probability and speed with which the market uncovers earnings management, reduces managersโ incentives to manipulate earnings. On the other hand the threat of potential bear participants may drive directors to attempt to make earnings look better to avoid the attention of short sellers and thus the confounding impact associated with the downward price pressure of their trades.

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. ๐ฅ
Origins of the Idea ๐ฑ
The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. ๐ง
Challenges Faced ๐ค
Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.
Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. ๐
Creating Truly Random Links ๐ ๏ธ
The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.
