We wouldn't blame you if you thought this was a rare re-release from the late 60s, but no, this is classic funk done by a band who are very much alive, kicking and major league gigging.
Hailing from South London, The Soul Immigrants are fine purveyors of energetic deep funk revival (&beyond!). Tight, slightly lo-fi and seriously funky, both cuts on this cheeky 7" showcase the band's extensive repertoire. Hard and gritty, fat and greasy sees the band back in swinging fashion with the fantastic sounding single The Ghetto (There's No Way Out) an Afro-Funk barnstormer, deeply melodic, super tough and soulful.
My copy have a reversed labels and both sides are playing slightly offcenter, but i recordered the rips with 45 centered on platter. Vinyl rip from musicdawn 45's collection.
