The arc fault detection device (AFDD) also called arc fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) is a type of circuit breaker to protect from an arc fault. It senses the presence of an arc by measuring the high-frequency current signature of arc current in the circuit and disconnects the AC supply in case of an arc fault.
Then, the Generation of fire due to an arc fault type short circuit with a high impedance path is also explained in this video tutorial.
