How to Make a Square Foot Garden , From A to Z - Season 1 Ep. 1 Video

If you are thinking of starting a garden this spring, then you may like this video! We cover the first step of building a Square Foot Garden, from our trip to the home improvement store to the soil mixture. Note - I used 8 inch wood versus the 6 inch in the book. The reason why is it's easier to maintain at least 6 inches of soil if the sides of the bed are higher. After the soil settles, then it usually drops abotu 1 inch. Throughout the season, I am removing and replacing plants, which also takes away some of the soil. I find it is easier for me to use 8 inch high beds, but maintain at least 6 inches if soil.
