Ketua KPK Agus Rahardjo mengatakan dirinya sempat mendampingi Novel Baswedan saat diperiksa oleh penyidik tim gabungan. Agus membenarkan kalau ada CCTV yang ternyata tidak diperiksa oleh penyidik. Sedangkan pengacara Novel Baswedan, Saur Siagian mempertanyakan mengapa mantan Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol M Iriawan alias Iwan Bule tidak diperiksa oleh TPF. “Itu kan Iwan yang sempat mengingatkan Novel agar hati-hati. Artinya dia tahu akan ada kejadian ini. Itu diperiksa tidak,” tanya Saur.

Anggota TPF Novel Baswedan, Hermawan Sulistyo menjelaskan mengapa TPF tidak memeriksa CCTV yang disebutkan oleh Agus. “Itu pelakunya tidak melewati jalan itu. Untuk apa diperiksa. Sementara untuk CCTV yang lain, itu memang resolusinya kecil. Sudah diperjelas tetap tidak tertangkap nopol motornya,” kata Hermawan. Soal Iwan Bule, Hermawan menegaskan timnya sudah memeriksa jenderal polisi tersebut. “Sudah kami periksa selama kurang lebih dua jam,” ujarnya.
