The process of creating a slow-motion effect is directly linked to the video export process. How do you export videos? What is the best video file format? What is a video codec? “How can the frame rate affect slow-motion?” you may ask. Well, it’s all about the number of frames in each second of your video. Let us tell you more…

Frame rates of 24, 25, and 30 fps are standard for TV and cinema. If the number of frames is lower, the picture flow will be jerky and look like a slideshow. If the number is higher, you can slow the video down to achieve the desirable slow-motion effect!

Why do people love this effect so much? We humans can’t slow down time but, by applying a slow-motion effect to out video, we can slow the action down and see things we might have missed before. In movies, slow motion lets you highlight details that wouldn’t normally be seen in the real world. This approach is also used in suspense scenes to raise the level of anxiety and uncertainty about what might happen. Conversely, when the outcome of a scene is obvious, slow-motion inevitability delays will heighten the drama. Speeds higher than 1000 fps are more often used by scientists for studying transient processes like electrical discharges, explosions, hits, deformations, and so on. Another useful way to apply the slow-mo effect is video stabilization. Slowing a video down lets you get decent video without the camera shake from the original footage.

Here are some key points to consider when creating a slow-motion clip:
Don’t try to set a higher frame rate than the original clip uses. If you shoot your video at 30 fps and then try to export it as 60 fps video, you won’t be able to create great slow-mo because there won’t be any additional new frames - the video editing program will just copy the existing ones.
During slow-downs, make sure the final frame playback rate is no lower than 24 fps, otherwise the picture flow will be jerky and look more like a slideshow.
In most cases, it’s best to choose standard parameters like 24, 25, or 30 fps. 50 or 60 fps are the best options if you want to create a hyperrealistic sequence.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. 🎥

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced 🤔

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. 🔍

Creating Truly Random Links 🛠️

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube 📺

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎵

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact 🤑

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. 📈
