Don't you hate it when you fill up the washing machine, add detergent and a whole bunch of dirty clothes......suddenly it decides to stop working. You see, the lid switch keeps the center agitator from working when the lid is open. When it fails, (usually it is after the machine fills and is now ready to start agitating the laundry) there is a quick patch or fix that will get you along your way while you wait for the new part to come in. You would think they would make machines that won't fill up either when the switch fails. NOPE! So you are stuck with a full machine. Well this is a quick fix for just that situation.This video is for educational purposes and if you attempt to do this, it is at your own risk. The safety switch is there for a reason, but I thought I would show you what I did. Also....there are lots of reasons why a machine will stop working. I always try to work on the easier things before tackling the harder.
