Mercedes-Benz E Class 300 de is a plug-in hybrid. Due to stringent environmental regulations all car manufacturers, who want to sell cars in Europe have to reduce emissions across the model range. Otherwise they will have to pay fines. Therefore carmakers invest in low-emission powertrains. Mercedes promises all models will have hybrid or electric variants by 2022.
In case of the plug-in hybrid the car can drive several dozen kilometres in zero emissions mode. A larger battery is charged from an electric socket or via the engine, for example during long motorway drives. Several dozen kilometers should be enough for your zero-emissions zone drive, otherwise the car will behave like a full hybrid.
The Mercedes-Benz E 300 de is interesting, because it is a diesel plug-in hybrid. Most hybrids work with petrol engines, and the only diesel hybrids I can think of are the Peugeot 508 RXH and 3008 Hybrid4 (the 2012 model, not the recently announced PHEV), and back in the day Volvo experimented with a diesel PHEV previous generation V60.
The Mercedes-Benz E300de is powered by a 194 hp diesel - the same as in the E 220d I tested a couple of years ago - and a 122 hp electric motor. The hybrid powertrain produces 306 hp, and 700 Nm of torque. That’s 300 more, than in the regular diesel. The 0-100 km/h time drops from 7.3 seconds in the E 220d to 5.9 seconds in the E 300 de.
The electric motor is powered by 13.5 kWh batteries living in the boot.

About the Site 🌐
This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. 🎥
Origins of the Idea 🌱
The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠
Challenges Faced 🤔
Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.
Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. 🔍
Creating Truly Random Links 🛠️
The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.
About YouTube 📺
YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟
Content and Users 🎵
Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.
While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.
Monetization and Impact 🤑
YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.
As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. 📈
