Oven Baked Smoky Sloppy Joes ~ Hoagie Grinder Sub Sandwich Recipe Video

This Baked Smoky Sloppy Joe hoagie hit the spot! Great combination of flavors....hot, spicy, sweet, smoky and creamy with
a crunch. In this recipe video I show you how I made this incredible sandwich, or should I say hoagie, or should I say sub.......LOL! Enjoy.

Baked Smoky Sloppy Joes ~ Hoagie Grinder Sub Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

1 to 1 1/2 pounds ground burger
1 cup finely diced onion
1 cup finely diced bell pepper
1 cup finely diced roasted red bell pepper
1 tbsp. minced garlic
salt and black pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. dry mustard
1-2 tsp. brown sugar
pinch red pepper flakes
2 cups tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1-2 tsp. red wine vinegar

1 large loaf French bread
Hickory Smoked Swiss Cheese

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

In a skillet on medium high brown and chop
ground burger.
Add onions, bell pepper, roasted red bell pepper
and salt and pepper.
Cook for 3-5 minutes until veggies start to get
tender. Add minced garlic and stir for an additional
minute. Add chili powder, dry mustard, brown sugar
and red pepper flakes and stir for an additional
minute.
Add tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce
and red wine vinegar.
Stir and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until reduced
and thickened. Remove from heat.

Slice French bread loaf and remove part of the bread
from the top....scoop out enough to add sloppy joe
mixture. Add cheese slices to bottom half and fold
together.
Wrap hoagie tightly with foil and bake at 450 degrees
for 15-20 minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool before serving.
Enjoy.
