We’ve noticed quite recently a number of new silver stackers joining You Tube and either making videos or commenting on them. We thought therefore, it would be useful to issue a very short video to give some cautionary advice to these new silver stackers.
We caution anyone who is considering investing in gold and silver to be aware of the pumpers and dumpers. These are people who ‘pump up’ the rhetoric encouraging people to go out immediately and buy as much gold and silver as they can, and then sell the stocks they have of these metals to the very people they have encouraged. Generally they tend to work for Bullion dealers or have some connection with the industry or some book to promote and thereby gaining a financial advantage for the advice that they give.
We did consider naming who these people are, but you will find them easily enough. They will tell you that gold and silver prices are about to rise to the moon. You will hear prices such as $10,000, $20,000 and $50,000 for gold and $100, $200 $500 and even $1,000 an oz for the price of silver.
Common sense must prevail. Can you imagine that if silver tomorrow jumped to just $50,, forget about $100 or $500, just imagine how many people would sell their existing silver holdings that they acquired in recent years and are now glad to get out of the investment at a profit. Also, how many purchased silver at $5 or $10 an oz back in the early 2000’s.
So there is no reason short of an economic collapse, why people should expect silver prices to rise substantially in the short term. In fact Silver supply is rising and has risen on average by over 3% per annum. Silver demand, last year, dipped in both the commercial sector and by private investors. 2015 is showing a similar picture.
Well we are not saying for one moment not to place your money into gold and silver. But we are saying view this ‘investment’ as a long term enterprise. If you need your money in 5 years’ time, then perhaps you should hold on to cash. However if you are considering saving for 15 -20 years, or more, then that is a different matter.
Having studied the various silver mining reports and the amount of silver still held in the ground, we have no doubt that taking a 30 year view, silver stocks will become almost depleted and its price will trade at a significant premium, perhaps even as high as gold.
That is not to say, that prices couldn’t rise before then, as we do see a gradual and consistent increase after 2016/2017, once we have experienced a further dip to below $15 and possibly $12 in the intervening period.
So it does make economic sense to save slowly, and regularly, and not to over commit your resources. Do not be encouraged to go ‘all in now’ because someone tells you that economic Armageddon is around the corner. They have been saying this for years and have their own agenda.
