DIY Seed Starting Mix - NEW with Coco Coir Bricks! Starting the Spring Garden Indoors | THE GARDEN Video

Home
Join my son and I as we test this new item for seed starting! It is less expensive than the pellets I used in the past and are also very fun to use. I get them at Home Depot for only $3 !!!
Shop here for the seed starting bricks (my Amazon storefront), but do know they are much more expensive: https://www.amazon.com/shop/rainbowgardens I am an Amazon affiliate and will receive a small commission on qualifying purchases when you order through the provided link.

This brick filled up one of my trays and I had plenty left over for about 3 more trays! I also want to share with you the plants I am growing for this spring as well as revisit how I start my seeds indoors.

I started my seeds with the new mix on February 10, 2017 and by Feb.15, they were up and growing. They are outside 24/7 now, waiting for the garden in March. The later part of the video footage was from prior years where I have grown this plant. I hope you appreciate the additional footage. Sometimes it helps to see the full circle. :)

Here is a cute video where my son and I first used coco coir pellets in 2013. They worked great but were a bit more expensive than the way I am showing you today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_-HvGVFY1E&t=0s

Coarse vermiculite helps retain moisture better than perlite. It also provides small air pockets for the roots.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎡

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact πŸ€‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. πŸ“ˆ
