The current flowing in thyristor does not become zero at zero crossing for an inductive load. The current will continue to flow until the energy stored in the inductor is transferred to the AC supply system. If triggering angle is more than 90 degree (gate pulse given after 90 degrees), then a DC current will flow even with AC source. Difference in current in thyristor, silicon controlled rectifier ( SCR ) due to resistor and inductor is explained and compared with Mosfet current.
