https://youtu.be/gTIQk7S3-2AIn 2016 I was put into a medically induced coma for 3 weeks because of a serious case of double lung pneumonia. While in the coma I developed ARDS acute respiratory distress syndrome (servere lung failure with about a 20% chance of survival)
I want to share what it's like to be in a coma for 3 weeks. I often get asked, "could you hear me?" Yes I did hear the people in my room while I was in a coma ... but NOT the way you probably think!
Being in a coma is one of the most scary things I've ever gone through.
I know many of us have family or friends in a coma from the coronavirus right now and it is extremely scary. I'm sharing my personal come experiences in the hopes that my story will help you to understand what it's like to be in a coma and what the struggles are facing your loved ones after waking up from a coma so you'll be better equiped to help them cope with their new life and deal with all the after affects.
