This concept of time management has been pushed off on Grant Cardone all his life and he's never EVER agreed with it. Why would anyone want to manage time? What are you gonna do? How are you going to manage time? Are you like, OK I'm gonna watch these seconds on my watch?!?
You don't want to manage time. You want to produce! You want to be highly productive. You want to squeeze time. You literally want to take time and turn 60 minutes into three hours of production. That's the different idea of thinking that you need today. Not "manage time".
Now, there are some tricks when managing time. If that's where you want to come from. Like Alan Greenspan: his roommate's father in college taught Alan Greenspan a little trick that Alan used his whole life, and it was to break the day into 15 minute blocks. 15 minutes you have something and then fill up the next 15 minutes.
Grant likes that concept a lot, and the reason Alan used this trick is because he didn't like white space on his calendar. He knew that white space was a problem because white space - nothing in that 15 minutes - is a waste of time.
Before you start thinking about just managing time first you need to do this:
#1. Make a list of things you're doing everyday that is a waste of time.
That is the way you create time, not manage time. Things you wanna do is looks at things that are wasteful. Those two or three hours a day that are wasteful moments. Things you're doing on facebook that are a waste of time or maybe a game you're playing that is a waste of time or maybe a newspaper you're reading where you're not really learning anything. You're reading about the celebrities. It's a waste of time.
#2. Start thinking about those 15 minute blocks and start filling that calendar up.
#3. Most importantly you need to think about is how you can create time.
How can you take 24 hours and pack more into it so that you can become more productive? So you can use that urgency concept and REALLY blow up your career, blow up your life. Make the most incredible life for your family, for you, for the kids, for your wife or your husband, AND for your clients.
Don't manage time... CREATE IT!!!
