I enjoyed one of the best channa gosht curries in my life at a restaurant called Lahore Kebab House in Shoreditch. The curry they served me wasn’t the one on the menu but a staff meal version that was super spicy and out of this world delicious.
A wonderful feast of spiced mutton and richly flavoured chickpea sauce. Serve with quick naan breads.
Ingredients
1 kg mutton meat
2 cup dried chickpeas
3 medium onions
3 tablespoons ginger garlic
2 medium tomatoes
3 green chilli
1 cup green coriander
Salt to taste
1 tablespoons red chilli powder
Half teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon all spices
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon dry coriander powder
5 green cardamom
2 black cardamom
6 cloves
3 small cinnamon sticks
1 teaspoon dry fenugreek leaves
1 teaspoon black pepper powder
