Being a conservative and being pro-choice, or pro-abortion, which is what pro-choice is, is really incongruent.
Conservatives believe in the importance of our founding documents. The Declaration of Independence says "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" because without life, neither liberty nor the pursuit of happiness exists.
Conservatives who say that we center our ideology on liberty really can't center that ideology on liberty unless we first prioritize life. Life is the most fundamental right. None of the other rights that are listed in the Bill of Rights actually exist without, first, the right to life.
Conservatives also believe in human dignity and human autonomy. That's why we believe in self-governance. And if that autonomy and that human dignity does not start at conception, does not start in the womb, then where does it start?
There's really no logical, no scientific, no moral, no political argument for abortion whatsoever.
There's no reason for a conservative to support it.
