Home
Analysis talking about who opened the red door, and many of the other unanswered questions in: It Comes At Night, the apocalyptic survival movie directed by Trey Edward Shults, starring Joel Edgerton, Christopher Abbott, Carmen Ejogo and and Riley Keough.

It Comes At Night is probably one of my favorite horror movies of the year so far, because of the psychological quandaries the film poses. In this video, I'll be giving my interpretations and answering questions about the ambiguities and unanswered questions, giving my thoughts on the ethics of the characters and reading into the unnoticed details of the 2017 horror film, It Comes At Night

00:49 | Who Opened The Door? | I give a few different options, as well as an alternative view on who may have been the one to open the red door.

05:01 | Why Is It Called "It Comes At Night"? | We'll explore the possibilities of what Shults meant by his movie title "It Comes At Night" and exploring what "It" could be or what it could represent.

08:28 | Water vs. Fire | You may have noticed some opposing motifs in the film, such as Water vs Fire, so I'll be explaining the meaning behind those symbols.

10:05 | Who Are The Real Bad Guys? | This film doesn't really give us a clear message about who the protagonist and antagonist are supposed to be, so I give my theory on who I think the antagonist is.

14:23 | Who Infected Who? | A shorter theory, explaining why Andrew, Will and Kim may be completely innocent.

15:15 | What Is The Sickness? | I analyse the meaning behind the sickness and show how is is inspired by real life illnesses like Cancer and The Black Death / Bubonic Plague.

16:29 | The Ending Explained - Dream or Reality? | A comparison of the dream scene and real scenes, and a theory on why the entire ending of the movie may actually just be a nightmare.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. 🎥

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced 🤔

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. 🔍

Creating Truly Random Links 🛠️

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube 📺

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎵

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact 🤑

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. 📈
