How To Analyze Dividend Stocks - Balance Sheets (Part 3) Video

Home
In the world of dividend growth investing, it's of critical importance to properly analyze stocks. Today's video is the third in my series of dividend stock analysis, and I dive deep into the art and science of analyzing balance sheets. Comprised of assets, liabilities, and stockholders' equity, the balance sheet is a financial snapshot, a representation of how good a company is at managing its finances. A technical video, this is the type of stock analysis that separates good investors from great ones. Learn how I personally build my dividend portfolio, through in-depth stock analysis.

Today's video utilizes Kimberly-Clark (KMB) as an example, a personal holding of mine. KMB is a stock I have owned for a while, and continue to average into. Learn about balance sheets via real world examples.

Today's video covers:
* What is a balance sheet? What is a balance sheet comprised of?
* Assets and the importance of current assets, especially cash and cash equivalents.
* The risks of accounts receivable and inventory spiking. Why a spike in accounts receivable and/or inventory can be a warning sign for dividend investors.
* Why I really like Kimberly-Clark's trends on accounts receivable and inventory.
* Liabilities: Short-term and long-term liabilities.
* Why I dislike companies that take on long-term liabilities (bonds) to buy back shares and raise dividends.
* Why I look at debt as a percentage of market capitalization.
* Stockholders' Equity: Why it's not the most important metric for a dividend investor, but why it still has some value.
* Specific examples from Kimberly-Clarkโ€™s balance sheet with real numbers.

Learn how to analyze dividend-paying stocks just like myself.

About the Site ๐ŸŒ

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. ๐ŸŽฅ

Origins of the Idea ๐ŸŒฑ

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. ๐Ÿง

Challenges Faced ๐Ÿค”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. ๐Ÿ”

Creating Truly Random Links ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube ๐Ÿ“บ

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. ๐ŸŒŸ

Content and Users ๐ŸŽต

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact ๐Ÿค‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. ๐Ÿ“ˆ
