The new Apple campus 2 has been completed, and employees will start moving in from April 2017, for a period of six months.

The following 10 unique design features make apple campus 2 a one in a kind office space design in the world.

1. A spaceship landed.
The 2.8 million-square-foot central building is the focal point of the entire campus.
The building is a four storied ring-shaped structure that looks like a huge spaceship landed.
The ring-like building about the size of 100 soccer fields.
At over 1,500 feet, the main building is greater in diameter than the height of Empire State Building; and wider than the Pentagon
The main building is clad entirely in the world’s largest panels of curved glass.
More than 3,000 sheets of curved glass cover the main building, which is a perfect circle.
2. Research and Development Centre

The R&D center is a four story, 300,000 square foot office building devoted to research and development, featuring expansive curtain walls of glass that provide unobstructed views of the surrounding landscaping.

The building includes one level of 280 underground parking spaces with limited additional parking on the surface, making room for plenty of bicycle parking and open landscaping.

3. Hilltop Theater
Apple has also announced the naming of the Hilltop theatre to “the Steve Jobs Theater”, in honor of the company’s visionary founder and his enduring influence on the world.
The Theatre sits on a hill, at one of the highest points on the campus.
The theater will hold up to 1,000 people, and will be accessed via a 20-foot-tall, 165-foot-diameter glass cylinder capped with a metallic carbon-fiber roof.
The theater's main function will be to host the company's world-renowned keynote addresses, in which they present new products.

4. Parking Silos.
In 2012, Apple executives worried the project might exceed its budget.
Instead of 6,000 underground parking spaces and 3,000 above¬ground (the former being more expensive), the ratio was flipped.
Parking garages above and below ground have space for about 14,000 vehicles.

5. Shock Absorbers.
To withstand earthquakes, the Ring is mounted on huge steel base isolators that ensure the building can move up to 4.5 feet in any direction without losing its vital services.

6. Tiled Tunnel.
A 755-foot, white-tiled tunnel, connects Wolfe Road to the campus and the Ring’s underground parking.

7. Wellness Facility.
In addition to weights and a two-story yoga room, the 100,000-square-foot Fitness & Wellness Center offers employees access to medical and dental services.
Around 80 percent of the surrounding parklands will be green space.
This will offer two miles of jogging and cycling track, as well as an orchard, meadow and pond to create a relaxing work environment.

8. A Breathing Building.
The Ring is world’s largest naturally ventilated building, predicted to require no heating or air conditioning for nine months of the year.
To fulfill Steve Jobs wish for a building that breathes, the engineering team consulted with experts who optimize airflow in Formula One race cars.
The Ring inhales air through soffits along its perimeter and chimney like shafts, and exhale warm air back outside.
The concrete in the floor and ceiling is embedded with tubes of water and is supposed to lock in a temperature between 68 and 77 degrees, so that the heating or cooling system will kick in only on very hot or cold days.
The café on the new campus has two giant glass doors that weigh 440,000 pounds each and open and close without sound due to machinery that is hidden underground.
The doors can be opened during the warmer months, so employees can eat outside.
9. Solar System.
The campus will run 100 percent on renewable energy from solar and biofuels.
It is one of the largest on-site renewable energy installations in the world.
Building rooftops will hold over 805,000 square feet of solar arrays capable of producing 17 megawatts of solar energy to run the entire campus.

10. Native Landscape.
Jobs did his best thinking during long walks in nature.
Over 5 million-square-feet of existing asphalt and concrete have been replaced with natural fields and more than 9,000 native and drought-resistant trees.
The surrounding parklands will offer two miles of walking and running paths, as well as an orchard, meadow and pond to create a relaxing work environment.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. 🎥

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced 🤔

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. 🔍

Creating Truly Random Links 🛠️

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube 📺

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎵

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact 🤑

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. 📈
