HLC system converts single-phase AC supply with voltage and frequency variation into the 3-phase AC supply with stable voltage and frequency.
The HLC consists of 4 parts, IGBT-based rectifier, DC link, and IGBT based inverter and filter. HLC system is a kind of head-on generation HOG system. KLC gets the 1 phase supply from a special winding converter transformer. An IGBT-based rectifier converts this AC into DC. Then an IGBT based 3 phase inverter converts DC into 3-phase AC of fixed frequency and voltage.
