Porsche Taycan may not be the first electric Porsche, but it is probably the first true electric sports car. Porsche Taycan, here the Turbo version, feels like a 911. From behind the wheel I have no doubt I’m driving a Porsche or rather THE Porsche, as I think of the 911. The steering is precise and quick, the centre of gravity is lower, than in the 911, and thanks to the AWD the Taycan doesn’t spin its wheels during launch control. It just shoots off pushing you into the seat.
This is the Porsche Taycan Turbo. What's the turbo all about, since this is an EV? That’s because Porsche decided to continue its model naming scheme despite this being an electric car. So we have the Taycan 4S (530 hp), the 4S performance Battery Plus with 571 hp, the Turbo with 680 hp, and the Turbo S with 761 hp.
