White peas chaat" or "Ghhogni chaat" is a famous chaat out of all the chhats. Ghugni Chaat is a popularly available street food of India. This is an ultimate âhealthy snack ideaâ as well as a perfect curry to go with most breads like roti ,paratha or naan. Ghugni is made with dried yellow or white peas. Peas are soaked, boiled, and cooked with tomatoes and spices. The cooked peas mixture is then taken to a serving bowl garnished with spoonful of green chilli,coriander leaves , lime juice and chopped onions. A protein packed healthy snack idea!

Ingredients
Soaked dried peas - 1.5 cup
Potatoes - 5 small
Onion - 1 medium
tomatoes - 1 medium
Green Chillies - 2
Oil - 2 tbsp
Green Coriander - 2 or 3 tbsp
cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Red Chilli - 1/4 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Ginger & Garlic - 1 tsp (paste)
Salt - 1 tsp or as per taste
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Procedure:
1. Soak yellow peas overnight. Next morning, drain the water.
2. Add the soaked peas to a pressure cooker along with potatoes.
3. Add 2 cups of water, Turmeric & salt and cook on medium flame for 3 whistles.
4. To an another pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil.
5. Add cumin and fry till they turn light brown. Add sliced onion. Stir fry till onions are soft.
6. Add ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell leaves.
7. Add chopped tomatoes and salt. Close the lid and cook on medium to low flame till the tomatoes get tender.
8. Stir fry till the oil separates. and then add the red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala.
9. Add cooked peas and potatoes along with the water. Add 2 cups of water if required. Mix well and simmer for 15 minutes
10. Add chopped coriander leaves.
11. Dish out and garnish with diced onions and chopped coriander.
