Stir-Fry Beef With Garlic Black Pepper & Lime | Chinese Style Recipe

Learn how to cook a stir-fried beef with garlic, black peppercorns, lime and a few mint leaves.

Welcome to Xiao's Kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei and my goal is to make your cooking simple and exciting. Ever since my Mother showed me how to cook at an early age, I have always had a strong passion for cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia, in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and learn new Chinese recipes.

Ingredients:
350g Beef Steak (cut into thin strips)
1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp Black Peppercorns (crushed)
2 Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
1 Fresh Red Chilli (de-seeded & finely sliced)
4 Cloves Garlic (finely chopped)
2 Tbsp Lime Juice
½ Tsp Fish Sauce
Handful Mint Leaves

Method:
1. Combine the brown sugar, crushed peppercorn, soy sauce, chilli, garlic and half of the lime juice in a bowl, mix well
2. Place the steak strips in a bowl, add the combined ingredients from above, mix well and then leave to marinate for at least an hour
3. Heat 2 Tbsp oil in the wok over high heat
4. Place the marinated steak strips in the wok, stir-fry for 2 – 3 minutes
5. Add the fish sauce, the remaining lime juice, stir-fry for a minute
6. Add the mint leaves and stir-fry for few seconds
7. Transfer onto a dish, serve with rice or noodles
