Duplicate Shapes around a Circle in Illustrator - How to rotate and distribute shapes with ease.

Learn how to distribute objects evenly around a circle in Illustrator. This process is handy for making dials and gears as the shapes are rotated as they move around the circle so they always point in towards the center of the circle. This process uses the Rotate tool in Illustrator and you will learn how to determine the point around which the shape will rotate and a way to have Illustrator determine how many degrees to rotate the shape (if you are math challenged!). You will also learn a shortcut keystroke that will do the copying and rotating for you.

This process can be used to rotate any type of object around a circle.
