▶Dallas Mavericks rookie phenom Luka Doncic has a lot of hype around the NBA. It seems like the camera always follows what he is doing, and his highlights are always being posted on social media. LeBron James even said that he admires Doncic because of how fast he has adapted to the NBA. When Doncic was playing for Real Madrid, many NBA scouts and executives watched his games. They were in awe of how experienced he was at such a young age. He would dominate players that were sometimes five years older than him. Some of his favorite players in the NBA are Kevin Durant and Ben Simmons. He compares himself to Simmons because of how versatile they both are. Many people were skeptical of Doncic heading into the 2018 NBA Draft because he played overseas. They were skeptical because some of them thought that his skills would not translate over to the NBA. All the people that thought this were really wrong. Doncic has excelled in the NBA, and he even said that playing in Europe is harder than playing in the NBA. He is having a miraculous rookie season that is filled with a lot of highlights. One of Doncic's highlights from this season was when he faced the Houston Rockets and went on a personal 11-0 run in the final minutes of the game. Another one of his highlights was when he hit 7 three-pointers against the New Orleans Pelicans. Leading up to the All-Star game, many people thought that he should be a part of it. He was second in fan voting, but he ended up not being selected. However, he did play for the World Team in the 2019 Rising Stars Challenge.
