Eating the best foods to build lean muscle and burn fat isn't always easy. But TestoFuel's Jason Sani has the answers you're looking for.
In this video, Jason suggests the best source of:
• Protein to Build Lean Muscle
• Healthy Fats for Testosterone Production
• Carbohydrates for Metabolic Energy
And what you should be eating to get that thick muscular frame, with a lean overall physique.
Protein for Lean Muscle
When it comes to building muscle, the classic macro everyone turns to is protein. Claimed to be one of the main building blocks of muscle, protein is essential for muscle recovery after a workout.
For optimum protein, Jason recommends lean meats like chicken breast - a handful contains around 25 – 35g of protein, and are fairly cheap to buy. Alternatives include lean beef, fish or for a more vegetarian option beans and nuts.
As general rule you should be looking to consume around 0.8 – 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight when you're training hard.
Dietary Fats for Testosterone Production
Despite what you may have heard fats are good for testosterone production – and vital for building lean muscle and burning fat. They optimize your hormones and support your potential to build more muscle mass in the gym. However, for the best results you need to ensure your fats come from a healthy source.
Jason recommends clean fats like Avocados, and almonds. Avocados have the benefit of supplying your body with potassium, which cuts down on cramps while almonds contain magnesium which lowers Sex Hormone Binding Globulin and increases free testosterone.
Carbohydrates for Metabolic Energy
Finally we have carbohydrates, which are a great source of energy for long intense gym sessions. Although they have a lot of stigma to them, the right source of carbohydrates can produce effective slow releasing energy to support your performance.
For the best choice Jason recommends keeping it easy with the basics: sweet potatoes, rustic potatoes and brown rice are all great choices as complex carbs.
If you're looking for foods to build lean muscle and burn fat, you need to have a full balance of proteins, carbs and dietary fats.
Jason Sani recommends chicken breast for protein, avocados and almonds for fats and sweet potatoes, rustic potatoes and brown rice as good examples for carbs.
