The long-standing row between Peru's president and the right-wing opposition has sunk the nation into a political crisis.
President Martin Vizcarra's decision to dissolve the congress was met with defiance from the opposition as they swore in the vice president as interim president.
But the military, police and large sections of the public have picked a side and say they still support Vizcarra.
