A commemoration on January 30th in Aylmer, Quebec of the life of Canadian filmmaker Matthiew Klinck, my wonderful loving and creative son, who was murdered at age 37 in Belize, a country in which he was developing a vibrant film industry that he envisaged would give many local people hope and new opportunities. He was slain by lost souls knowing nothing of the love of others and the joy of fellowship with which Matthiew infected those around him. The video was compiled by Matthiew's younger brother David, who also led the performance, at the end, of one of Matthiew's favourite songs.
"I was devastated to hear about the death of Matthiew. I have nothing but fond and funny memories of working with him ... he was yet another example of the fine young talent [Canada] has become noted for in our industry." --Joe Mantegna
"His love for the art of making film had nothing to do with money [or] prestige. It's just what he did." --Sam Glionna
"Matthiew was a true Belizean. A lot of Belizeans will die and never do what Matthiew did for Belize. He truly loved this country." --Horatio Guerrero
