Iran plane crash: Canada's Transportation Safety Board explains its role in investigation

The Canadian Transportation Safety Board spoke on Monday about its role in the investigation into the Iran plane crash.

The TSB said as it has "expert" status, it won't have the same ability as other countries to request certain things in the investigation however they said Iran has shown a willingness to let them participate further than what internationally agreed standards would typically allow.

They also said they are trying to determine why the incident happened, including the sequence of events and why airspace was not closed given recent events in Iran such as missile strikes at U.S. bases in Iraq, but not to assign blame or criminality.
