Ean Valte—a bassist and member of Carnegie Hall’s Future Music Project Ensemble—wrote “Sunshine” as a way to share his belief that a positive outlook can go a long way towards combating bigotry and hatred.

Celebrated performer Toshi Reagon leads Soul Mechanism: A Concert Celebrating the Music of Migrations at Carnegie Hall on May 19. The concert features her longtime collaborators and explores the migration experience from generation to generation and across borders. American roots songstress Martha Redbone, Alsarah and the Nubatones bandleader Alsarah, jazz and gospel vocalist Lizz Wright, singer-songwriter and filmmaker Be Steadwell, and activist-artist Taina Asili join New Yorkers of all ages, making new and original songs come to life.
