Wow! This guitar is the QUEEN of CLEAN tones. It has to be one of the best and most pleasing sounding Les Paul Customs I've owned. This guitar was a custom order through the Made to Measure program (M2M) which is essentially, kind of like a custom order. This was created by the Music Zoo to sell to the public as they thought this was a cool Les Paul idea. Even at a staggering $5500 price tag, it did sell!

This is a one-of-a-kind les Paul, as you don't see hardly ANY triple p90 LPs or really on any model. However, there was actually a guitar that looked nearly identical to this one in 1958. It was part of a rare custom order, but there was a white les Paul custom with 3 p90s birthed in 1958. There was also a black version done up in 1957. Other than that, a few other 3-P90 model Gibson guitars are the Non-Reverse Firebird III from the mid-60s, the mid-80s Explorer III, the 2000s Peter Frampton Custom Shop Les Paul Jr and very recently the Gary Clark SG all had 3 p90s.

One thing I forgot to mention in this video is that unlike with 3 humbuckers, with 3 p90s, you still have ample room for picking in between the pickups. Perhaps we need to throw a 4th p90 in there! Haha.

I was surprised to find this guitar had a long neck tenon - which is a historically accurate feature from the 50s, but they decided to use a Nashville styled bridge instead of an ABR-1.

Overall, this is a fantastic sounding 'clean' guitar. The dirty tones sounded good as a lead, but not really for rhythm. Personally, I think the bridge p90 is a bit too thin sounding for my tastes. I like the tones, but just wish I could make it sound a little bit fatter sometimes. Maybe a boost pedal would do that or swap it out for a p90 sized humbucker.
