Powerfull new breed r&b from the LA soul sister Gizzelle that have such a big voice, imho one of the best female r&b voices of new era! Unfortunately she just released only couple of 45's, 1 CD and one LP in 2008-2011 and stopped her recording career. "Baby Please Don't Go" is the classic blues standart from 1935 that was covered numerous times. Gizzelle recording is most similar to the tremendous version of Rose Mitchell ‎from 1954. And I must say that this record have a nature feeling of good old 50's early 60's days, and it's very hard to believe that it was recordered in new millenium! First pressing was released around 2005, on small indie label Wild Records that specialises on rockabilly revival and very good in it! If you dig rockabilly 45's - check out their releases and you will be pleased. Backing to this one - it was released in tiny pressing of 250 copies and was sold out in a moment. Year later in 2010 due to the huge demand, label made the second pressing on purple vinyl also ltd. to the 259 copies and they were also sold out in no time. This 45 is a great dj set starter - and i've always take it in the playbox when i plan to spin new r&b 45's. Vinyl rip from musicdawn 45's record collection.
