After Liane (Holliday) Willey, Ed.D., (North ’77) was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome at age 35, she has dedicated her career to educating the people around the globe about high-functioning autism in females. Her first book, “Pretending to be Normal,” has sold over 100,000 copies. Formerly a professor of psycholinguistics, she is also a motivational speaker who sponsors equine therapy programs and scholarships for psychology students.

She was inducted into the Parkway Alumni Associations's Hall of Fame in November 2014. The Hall of Fame recognizes Parkway graduates who have brought honor to the district by distinguishing themselves through career achievements and outstanding community service in the years since they graduated from high school.

The Parkway Alumni Association is a 501(c)(3) public charity that provides innovative programs, grants for students and recognition initiatives for outstanding teachers and staff who make a difference in the lives of students each day. The mission of the Parkway Alumni Association is to encourage communication among alumni and foster programs which serve and support the Parkway community.
